So you just !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , congratulations! Now I want to know two things: what unique exterior design cue will you use, and what ingenious feature will all your vehicles have that makes them stand apart from the other 40 vehicles people will shop against it?

The exterior design cue must be something that makes the brand recognizable even to the least auto-savvy person in the world. Infiniti is going for that kinky chrome crescent, Mazda has whatever you call those inverted profile lines that make the front arches so prominent, and Maserati has the portholes and badges. Without those cues then we all know even you gearheads would need to do some mental flexing in order to tell their cars apart at a glance.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

The ingenious feature or gimmick needs to be something that reminds owner’s (and passengers/passersby) that they are dealing with something different. Usually the goto feature is how you start the car for most brands. Saab had the console turnkey, Aston has the glass key, Ferrari has the red key, Lamborghini has the flip up launcher cover, and Tesla has absolutely nothing. The thing is that it must be a feature in all of the cars as standard, not an option or a distinctive thing about a major model in the lineup. So Symmetrical AWD counts for Subaru but Quattro doesn’t qualify for Audi.

Let’s hear that exterior design cue and unique feature that lets everyone know that they are about to experience [ insert your brand name here ]!

Design Queues: Everything but the steering wheel and wheels is slightly square. Shit-tons of wood and leather everywhere.

Ingenious feature: Every car has a complex hydraulic pressure system powering the automobile’s windows, seats, sun-roof, boot lid, and automatically closing doors. Adjustable air suspension delivers excellent ride quality and sure handling over any road surface

Exterior feature: electro chromatic glass headlight covers. The closest we’re getting to fliplights again. Thanks Obama.

Interior feature: no radio as part of a minimalist interior. Part of the overarching brand theme of performance through light weight.

Design queues: Sail fish, they are aerodynamic, sleek and sexy as shit.

Ingenious feature: Inertia components, like for cruise control. You shut off the car and it uses sensors sending wheel speed info to a computer moving weight’s within the center of the wheel to control the speed at the wheel spins. Also it use Inertia so gyroscopic mounted motor spinning powering the power steering, entertainment, and the car it stopped it keep spinning charging the batteries so you have no need to plug in to charge.

Every car will be rear engined with a V twin or V4. They will all have vents on the rear fenders.

The key will be high on the left side. I cannot stand when the key touches my leg.

All cars will seat 2, 4, or 6; the common 5 seat arrangement is poor design. All shifters: auto, paddle, and manual will be on the steering column.

Here’s my brand to give the background: Triumph!

http://oppositelock.kinja.com/didn-t-do-this…

Design Queues: In the style of cars like the Porsche 917 and the picture below, each wheelwell opening will extend backwards and blend into the bodywork. The tube frame/chassis, drivetrain and suspension componentry will be peeking out like a short skirt ;) terribly unaerodynamic, but damn cool :)

Ingenious Feature: Sound. All the cars will sound pretty damn good to begin with, but on the dash will be a button marked ‘LOUD’. Pressing this will open baffles in the exhaust to a pretty-much straight-piped exhaust system. The bike-engine cars will sound like absolute screamers, and the turbocharged hatchbacks like old-school anti-lagged rally cars (anti-lag as standard on the hatchbacks).

No, it doesn’t.

The brand is Impeto, here is the OP.

http://oppositelock.kinja.com/late-to-the-pa…

Design: All cars have a little styling quirk on the rear pillar like BMW’s hoffmeister kink or Saab’s hocket stick. Perhaps a glassy triangular section, 70s Maserati style.

All proportions are clean like German and Japanese cars of the 80s and 90s. Interiors have sufficient levels of leather and something close to pop-up headlights are present on the sports cars (or as an OEM accessory).

Feature: Small V6s used instead of four-pots. Wankel systems used on some vehicles in tandem with electric motors for economy and performance models have V10s, V12s etc. Interesting engines all round.

As far as a distinctive feature goes, every car will be equipped with a device to alter exhaust volume and a g-force dial R34-style so you can see how much of an idiot you are driving like. Also dash cams are a factory option.

Just finished my brand, Insignia.

Linky-dink

Design Cue: In general the styling would be very clean, and the sheetmetal would be smooth and flowey. I would keep front overhang to a minimum, and the rear would come up and inwards, like so.

Another inspiration would be the Lexus LC.

Kinja'd!!!

As far as one distinguishing element, I would love to see copper trim instead of chrome.

Kinja'd!!!

Gimmick : A thumbprint sensor to start the car.
